Q. How do I get access to the online manual?
Just click on register in the top right hand corner, complete your details, setting a user name, password. You will then receive a confirmation email to say that you are now a registered user which contains a link to activate your account. Click on the link in the confirmation email and then follow the instructions to take out a subscription. You can choose to pay by credit card, or if you have a credit account already set up we can invoice you. If you pay by credit card you will get immediate access to the Manual. If choosing to pay on account then as soon as we have verified that you have a credit account set up, access will be granted. If you have chosen to pay by account and if the invoice is not settled within 30 days your access to the manual will be revoked. You can now click on 'log in', in the top right hand corner of the site, enter your user name and password and away you go.
Q. How long will my subscription last?
Subscriptions last for one year. Sixty days before the year is up you will receive an email reminding you that your subscription is up for renewal. If you choose to pay on account, an invoice will be issued for payment within 30 days. If the account is not settled you will be sent a further reminder 30 days, then 7 days before the subscription is due to expire. If no payment is received then access to the manual will be denied.
Q. How much does it cost to subscribe?
A single user licence costs £315 per annum A single user licence plus either hardcopy or cd-rom, plus six monthly amendments costs £360 per annum Details of the Multiple User Licence Prices are available on the Subscription Page.
Q. Are there any special offers available for existing subscribers?
If you are an existing hardcopy or CD-Rom user wishing to switch to the online service, then you will be eligible for a 57% discount off the first years subscription. A saving of £180. Subsequent years will revert back to the full price of £315. If you wish to subscribe to the online service as well as your hardcopy/ or cd-rom then your first year will be discounted to £157.50 and will include two amendments. Subsequent years will revert back to the full price of £360.
Q. Are there discounts for multiple licences?
Yes multiple licences work out cheaper per user.
Q. Can I choose any user name and password?
Yes, choose a user name and password that you are certain to remember. Passwords must be made up of both letters and numbers. You are advised to create a password that contains both letters and numbers and is at least 6 characters long.
Q. What do I do if I forget my password?
If you forget you password, click on the forgotten password link below the password field. You will be sent an email containing a link that will allow you to reset your password. If you experience problems then email email@example.com. And the administrator will instruct you how to proceed.
Q. What do I do if I forget my user name?
If you forget your user name then you will need to email firstname.lastname@example.org, and the administrator will reset you as a user, and remove your old user name and password.
Q. Can I print, and copy and paste sections from the manual?
Yes you can. Once you are in the page you want, you can press the Print this Page link at the bottom of the page. To copy and paste, just highlight the text and press ctrl and c and then paste in to your destination document.
Q. Can I download and print a whole section?
You can go to the bottom of a page in a chosen section and press ‘Download PDF’ or go to the PDF Library in the top menu and choose the appropriate section and click on download. This document will then open in adobe acrobat and you can print from there. Please note that the online version will be more up-to-date than the printed version therefore some of the information in the PDFs may not be as up-to-date as the web pages.
Q. Who can I contact if I have a technical query regarding the manual content?

Q. How can I search for a particular topic of keyword in the manual?
Just enter the words you want to search on in the search box and a list of results will appear on the page.
Q. Where can I find sources for further information?
Click on the links page and you should find a wide range of links to government organisations, trade associations and other information sources. There are also hyperlinks throughout the Manual to enable you to source further information.
Q. How up-to-date is the manual?
The online manual will be updated continuously, there will be a page in the Manual which will give details of the sections which have been updated, when they were updated and a summary of what was updated.
